सामवेद (अध्याय 27)
आशुः शिशानो वृषभो न भीमो घनाघनः क्षोभणश्चर्षणीनाम् । सङ्क्रन्दनोऽनिमिष एकवीरः शतँ सेना अजयत्साकमिन्द्रः ॥ (१)
हे इंद्र! आप बैल की तरह भीमकाय, दुष्टनाशक, वैरियों के लिए क्षोभदायी, स्फूर्तिवान व आलस्यरहित हैं. अकेले आप ही ऐसे वीर हैं, जो सारी शत्रु की सेना को पराजित कर देते हैं. (१)
O Indra! You are as arrogant as a bull, evil-destroyer, annoying to the varis, energetic and lazy. You alone are the heroes who defeat the entire enemy's army. (1)
सामवेद (अध्याय 27)
सङ्क्रन्दनेनानिमिषेण जिष्णुना युत्कारेण दुश्च्यवनेन धृष्णुना । तदिन्द्रेण जयत तत्सहध्वं युधो नर इषुहस्तेन वृष्णा ॥ (२)
हे इंद्र! आप शत्रुओं को क्रंदन करा (रुला) देने वाले हैं. आप आलस्यरहित हैं. आप विजेता व निपुण हैं. योद्धा इंद्र की सहायता से युद्ध जीत कर शत्रुओं को भगाते हैं. (२)
O Indra! You are going to cry (cry) to the enemies. You are lazy. You are a winner and an accomplished one. Warriors win the war with the help of Indra and drive away the enemies. (2)
सामवेद (अध्याय 27)
स इषुहस्तैः स निषङ्गिभिर्वशी सँस्रष्टा स युध इन्द्रो गणेन । सँ सृष्टजित्सोमपा बाहुशर्ध्यू३ग्रधन्वा प्रतिहिताभिरस्ता ॥ (३)
इंद्र युद्ध (विद्या) में दक्ष हैं. वे सृष्टि के विजेता, सोमरस पीने वाले, बाहुबली, धनुर्धारी व शत्रुओं के नाशक हैं. वे तलवार और बाण धारण करने वाले योद्धाओं के सहयोग से शत्रुओं को वशीभूत कर लेते हैं. (३)
Indra is skilled in war (vidya). He is the conqueror of creation, the drinker of Someras, Bahubali, archer and destroyer of enemies. They subjugate enemies with the help of warriors wearing swords and arrows. (3)
सामवेद (अध्याय 27)
बृहस्पते परि दीया रथेन रक्षोहामित्राँ अपबाधमानः । प्रभञ्जन्सेनाः प्रमृणो युधा जयन्नस्माकमेध्यविता रथानाम् ॥ (४)
हे इंद्र! आप सब के पालनहार, राक्षसों के नाशक, शत्रुओं के बाधक, सेना के विध्वंसक व हमारे रथों के रक्षक हैं. युद्ध में हम विजयी हों. (४)
O Indra! You are the sustainer of all, the destroyer of demons, the obstacle of enemies, the destroyer of the army and the protector of our chariots. Let us be victorious in the war. (4)
सामवेद (अध्याय 27)
बलविज्ञायः स्थविरः प्रवीरः सहस्वान्वाजी सहमान उग्रः । अभिवीरो अभिसत्वा सहोजा जैत्रमिन्द्र रथमा तिष्ठ गोवित् ॥ (५)
हे इंद्र! आप सब के बल को जानते हैं. आप अत्यंत वीर, स्थविर और उग्रता सहन करने वाले हैं. आप बल सहित ही पैदा हुए हैं. आप महावीर व गोपालक हैं. आप विजयी रथ में बैठने की कृपा कीजिए. (५)
O Indra! You know the power of all. You are extremely brave, stubborn and fierce. You are born with force. You are Mahavir and Gopalak. Please sit in the victorious chariot. (5)
सामवेद (अध्याय 27)
गोत्रभिदं गोविदं वज्रबाहुं जयन्तमज्म प्रमृणन्तमोजसा । इमँ सजाता अनु वीरयध्वमिन्द्रँ सखायो अनु सँ रभध्वम् ॥ (६)
हे इंद्र! आप दुश्मनों के गढ़ भेद देते हैं. आप वज्रबाहु, शत्रुनाशक, विजेता, गोपालक, नेता और पराक्रमशील हैं. शत्रु पर क्रोध करने में आप इंद्र का अनुगमन कीजिए. (६)
O Indra! You penetrate the strongholds of enemies. You are vajrabahu, enemy destroyer, conqueror, gopalak, leader and mighty. Follow Indra in angering the enemy. (6)
सामवेद (अध्याय 27)
अभि गोत्राणि सहसा गाहमानोऽदयो वीरः शतमन्युरिन्द्रः । दुश्च्यवनः पृतनाषाडयुध्यो३ऽस्माकँ सेना अवतु प्र युत्सु ॥ (७)
हे इंद्र! आप हमारी व सेनाओं की रक्षा कीजिए. आप अदभुत युद्धवीर, शत्रुजित्, स्थिर, वीर, अनीति के प्रति क्रोधी व शत्रु पर दया न करने वाले हैं. आप शत्रु के गढ़ भेदने वाले हैं. (७)
O Indra! You protect us and our forces. You are a wonderful warrior, enemy, stable, brave, angry towards immorality and not pitying the enemy. You are going to penetrate the enemy's stronghold. (7)
सामवेद (अध्याय 27)
इन्द्र आसां नेता बृहस्पतिर्दक्षिणा यज्ञः पुर एतु सोमः । देवसेनानामभिभञ्जतीनां जयन्तीनां मरुतो यन्त्वग्रम् ॥ (८)
हे इंद्र! आप हमारे नेता होइए. बृहस्पति सब से आगे होने की कृपा करें. सोम दक्षिण यज्ञ के संचालक हैं. वे भी अग्रगामी हों. मरुद्गण शत्रुनाशक हैं. वे देवताओं की सेना में सब से आगो होने की कृपा करें. (८)
O Indra! You are our leader. Please be ahead of Jupiter. Som is the operator of the South Yagya. They should also be forward-looking. Deserts are enemies. May they be pleased to be the ones of the gods. (8)
