यजुर्वेद (अध्याय 17)
वि॒मान॑ऽए॒ष दि॒वो मध्य॑ऽआस्तऽआपप्रि॒वान् रोद॑सीऽअ॒न्तरि॑क्षम्। स वि॒श्वाची॑र॒भिच॑ष्टे घृ॒तीची॑रन्त॒रा पूर्व॒मप॑रं च के॒तुम् ॥ (५९)
सूर्य जगत् को रचने में समर्थ हैं. यह सूर्य मध्यलोक, पृथ्वीलोक तथा अंतरिक्षलोक-तीनों लोकों को अपनी दीप्ति से पूरी तरह भर देते हैं (प्रकाशित कर देते हैं). सारे विशव को अपने आश्रय में रखते हैं. सभी जलों को धारते हैं. सवंद्रष्टा हैं. पूर्व और पश्चात के सभी मनोभावों को जानते हैं. (५९)
The sun is capable of creating the world. This sun fills the three worlds of the middle world, earth and space world with its light. They keep the whole world in their shelter. They hold all the water. They are sensible. They know all the emotions of the past and the post. (59)
