यजुर्वेद (अध्याय 29)
इन्द्र॑स्य॒ वज्रो॑ म॒रुता॒मनी॑कं मि॒त्रस्य॒ गर्भो॒ वरु॑णस्य॒ नाभिः॑।सेमां नो॑ ह॒व्यदा॑तिं जुषा॒णो देव॑ रथ॒ प्रति॑ ह॒व्या गृ॑भाय ॥ (५४)
हे रथ! आप दिव्य, इंद्र के वज्र जैसे व मरुतों की सैन्यशक्ति की भांति दूढ़ हैं. आप मित्र देव के गर्भ व वरुण देव की नाभि हैं. रथ में बैठे देवता हमारे द्वारा भेंट किए गए हवि को ग्रहण कर के तृप्त होने की कृपा करें. (५४)
O chariot! You are divine, like indra's thunderbolt and like the military power of the maruts. You are the womb of friend Dev and the navel of Varun Dev. May the deities sitting in the chariot be pleased to be satisfied by accepting the havi offered by us. (54)
