यजुर्वेद:
यद् ग्रामे॒ यदर॑ण्ये॒ यत् स॒भायां॒ यदि॑न्द्रि॒ये। यदेन॑श्चकृ॒मा व॒यमि॒दं तदव॑यजामहे॒ स्वाहा॑ ॥ (४५)
जो पाप हम ने गांव, जंगल और सभा में किए हैं हम उन से मुक्त होने के लिए यज्ञ करते हैं, उन के लिए स्वाहा. जो पाप हम ने इंद्रियों से किए हैं हम उन से मुक्त होने के लिए यज्ञ करते हैं, उन के लिए स्वाहा. (४५)
We perform yajna to get rid of the sins we have committed in the village, forest and assembly. We perform yajna to be free from the sins we have committed with the senses, swaha for them. (45)
