अथर्ववेद (कांड 11)
मुह्य॑न्त्वेषां बा॒हव॑श्चित्ताकू॒तं च॒ यद्धृ॒दि । मैषा॒मुच्छे॑षि॒ किं च॒न र॑दि॒ते अ॑र्बुदे॒ तव॑ ॥ (१३)
हे अर्बुदि नाम के सर्प! तुम्हारे खाए जाने पर उन शत्रुओं की भुजाएं निष्क्रिय हो जाएं. उन के मन में जो भी भावनाएं हैं, वे भी मोहित हो जाएं. हमारे शत्रुओं की जो रथ, घोड़ा हाथी आदि सेना है, वह भी शेष न बचे. (१३)
