अथर्ववेद: | सूक्त: 8
पञ्च॑ रा॒ज्यानि॑ वी॒रुधां॒ सोम॑श्रेष्ठानि ब्रूमः । द॒र्भो भ॒ङ्गो यवः॒ सह॒स्ते नो॑ मुञ्च॒न्त्वंह॑सः ॥ (१५)
फल पकने पर उन्नत होने वाली जड़ीबूटियों और फसलों में जो पांच श्रेष्ठ हैं और इन के राजा हैं, हम उन की स्तुति करते हैं. दर्भ भाग, जौ और सह नाम की विशेष ओषधि की स्तुति करते हैं. वे हमें पाप से मुक्त करें. (१५)
We praise the five best herbs and crops that grow when the fruit ripens and are the kings of them. The darbha part praises a special medicine named barley and co-name. Let them free us from sin. (15)
