अथर्ववेद: | सूक्त: 2
संपि॑तरा॒वृत्वि॑ये सृजेथां मा॒ता पि॒ता च॒ रेत॑सो भवाथः । मर्य॑ इव॒ योषा॒मधि॑रोहयैनां प्र॒जां कृ॑ण्वाथामि॒ह पु॑ष्यतं र॒यिम् ॥ (३७)
तुम दोनों ऋतुकाल में मातापिता बनने के लिए संयुक्त होओ. वीर्य के योग से तुम माता और पिता बनो. हे पति! मानवोचित निर्णय से पलंग पर चढ़ो. इस प्रकार तुम संतान को जन्म दो तथा अपने धन की वृद्धि करो. (३७)
Both of you should be united to become parents in the season. By the sum of semen, you become mother and father. O husband! Climb to the bed with a human decision. In this way, give birth to children and increase your wealth. (37)
