अथर्ववेद (कांड 5)
आलि॑गी च॒ विलि॑गी च पि॒ता च॑ म॒ता च॑ । वि॒द्म वः॑ स॒र्वतो॒ बन्ध्वर॑साः॒ किं क॑रिष्यथ ॥ (७)
हे सर्पो! तुम्हारे मातापिता आलिगी अर्थात् चिपकने वाले और विलगी अर्थात् न चिपकने वाले हैं. हम तुम्हारे सभी बंधुओं से परिचित हैं. तुम रसहीन अर्थात् विष हीन हो कर क्या करोगे? (७)
O Serpento! Your parents are aligi i.e. clinger and willing i.e. non-adhesive. We are familiar with all your brothers. What will you do when you are juiceless, that is, poisonless? (7)
