कृष्ण वर्ण अंतरिक्ष को पा कर सूर्य की किरणें पृथ्वी के पदार्थो का रस ग्रहण करती हुई द्युलोक में पहुंच जाती हैं. वे सूर्य किरणें जल को सूर्य मंडल से वृष्टि के रूप में लाती हैं और बाद में धरती को जल से गीला कर देती हैं. (१)

हे मरुद्गण! स्वर्ण से बने आभूषण वक्ष स्थल पर धारण कर के तुम जब चलते हो तो जलों को रसमय और ओषधियों को सुखकारी बनाते हो. हे नेता मरुद्गण! तुम जहां पर वर्षा का जल गिराते हो, उस देश में बल कारक अन्न और बुद्धियुक्त प्रजा का पोषण करो. (२)
O Desertion! When you walk by wearing ornaments made of gold on the chest, you make the waters juicy and the medicines pleasant. O leader, Marudgan! In the land where you drop rainwater, nurture the people with strength, food and wisdom. (2)
हे मरुद्गण! तुम जल बरसाने वाले उन मेघों को प्रेरित करो, जिन से संबंधित वर्षा सभी फसलों को और सरिताओं को पुष्ट करती है. जिस प्रकार दरिद्र मातापिता अपनी कन्या को देख कर दुःखी होते हैं, मेघ उसी प्रकार अपनी गर्जना से लोगों को भयभीत और कंपित करते हैं. पत्नी जिस प्रकार पति से बातचीत करती हुई उसे अन्न आदि प्रदान करती है, मेघ गर्जन रूपी वाणी उसी प्रकार गमनशील मेघ से बात करती है. (३)

Just as poor parents are sad to see their daughter, clouds frighten and stagger people with their roar. Just as the wife talks to her husband and provides him food etc., the voice of the cloud roaring talks to the gaming cloud in the same way. (3)
