अथर्ववेद (कांड 6)
इन्द्रो॑ जयाति॒ न परा॑ जयाता अधिरा॒जो राज॑सु राजयातै । च॒र्कृत्य॒ ईड्यो॒ वन्द्य॑श्चोप॒सद्यो॑ नमस्यो भवे॒ह ॥ (१)
इस संग्राम में इस राजा की सहायता के लिए आए हुए इंद्र विजयी हों. वह किसी से पराजित न हों. सभी राजाओं के स्वामी इंद्र इन राजाओं में सुशोभित हों. शत्रुओं को अत्यधिक काटने वाले ये स्तुत्य एवं वंदनीय हैं. हे सब के द्वारा सेवा करने योग्य इंद्र! तुम इस संग्राम में हमारे द्वारा पूजित बनो. (१)
Indra, who came to the aid of this king in this battle, should be victorious. He should not be defeated by anyone. May Indra, the swami of all kings, be adorned among these kings. They are praiseworthy and revered by cutting off enemies. O Indra, worthy of service by all! You become worshipped by us in this struggle. (1)
