अथर्ववेद (कांड 7)
आ॑तो॒दिनौ॑ नितो॒दिना॒वथो॑ संतो॒दिना॑वु॒त । अपि॑ नह्याम्यस्य॒ मेढ्रं॒ य इ॒तः स्त्री पुमा॑ञ्ज॒भार॑ ॥ (३)
सभी प्रकार से व्यथा पहुंचाने वाले शत्रु के अत्यधिक बाधा डालने वाले दोनों होंठों को मैं उखाड़ता हूं जो मिल कर बोलते हुए मुझे व्यथित करते हैं. हम से द्वेष रखने वाले जिस पुरुष अथवा स्त्री ने इस स्थान से हमारा धन चुराया है, उस शत्रु के प्रजनन अंग को भी मैं बांधता हूं. (३)
I uproot both the highly obstructive lips of the enemy who cause distress in all respects, which distress me while speaking together. I also bind the reproductive organ of the enemy who has stolen our wealth from this place to the man or woman who hates us. (3)
