अथर्ववेद: | सूक्त: 116
इन्द्र॑स्य कु॒क्षिर॑सि सोम॒धान॑ आ॒त्मा दे॒वाना॑मु॒त मानु॑षाणाम् । इ॒ह प्र॒जा ज॑नय॒ यास्त॑ आ॒सु या अ॒न्यत्रे॒ह तास्ते॑ रमन्ताम् ॥ (१)
हे छोड़े गए बैल! तुम सोम के आधार और इंद्र के उदर हो. तुम देवों और मनुष्यों के शरीर हो. तुम इस लोक में संतान उत्पन्न करो. सामने उपस्थित इस गांव में अथवा तुम्हारे निमित्त जो गाएं अन्यत्र विद्यमान हैं, उन में तुम्हारी प्रजाएं सुख से विहार करें. (१)
O abandoned bull! You are the base of Soma and the abdomen of Indra. You are the bodies of gods and human beings. You produce children in this world. In this village in front of you or in the cows that are present elsewhere for you, your people should roam happily. (1)
