अथर्ववेद (कांड 7)
अपि॑ नह्यामि ते बा॒हू अपि॑ नह्याम्या॒स्यम् । अ॒ग्नेर्घो॒रस्य॑ म॒न्युना॒ तेन॑ तेऽवधिषं ह॒विः ॥ (५)
मैं अभिचार कर्म में संलग्न तेरे दोनों हाथों और मुख को बांधता हूं, जिस से तेरे हाथ आहुति न दे सकें और मुख मंत्र का उच्चारण न कर सके. इस प्रकार अग्नि देव के भयानक क्रोध के द्वारा मैं तेरे हवि एवं उस से सिद्ध होने वाले कर्म का विनाश करता हूं. (५)
I tie both your hands and mouth engaged in acts of abhichar, so that your hands may not sacrifice and chant the mouth mantra. In this way, through the terrible anger of the agni god, I destroy your desire and the deeds that are accomplished by it. (5)
