अथर्ववेद: | सूक्त: 4
पा॒र्श्वे आ॑स्ता॒मनु॑मत्या॒ भग॑स्यास्तामनू॒वृजौ॑ । अ॑ष्ठी॒वन्ता॑वब्रवीन्मि॒त्रो ममै॒तौ केव॑ला॒विति॑ ॥ (१२)
इस बैल के पार्श्व अर्थात्‌ दोनों ओर के भाग अनुमति के हैं तथा इस के अनुबृज अर्थात्‌ पीछे चलने वाले भाग अग्नि देव के हैं. मित्र देव ने कहा था कि बैल के केवल टखने मेरे भाग हैं. (१२)
The sides of this bull i.e. the parts on both sides are allowed and its followers i.e. the parts running behind it belong to Agni Dev. Friend Dev had said that only the ankles of the bull are my parts. (12)
