च॒न्द्रमा॑ अ॒प्स्व१॒॑न्तरा सु॑प॒र्णो धा॑वते दि॒वि । न वो॑ हिरण्यनेमयः प॒दं वि॑न्दन्ति विद्युतो वि॒त्तं मे॑ अ॒स्य रो॑दसी ॥ (१)
उदकमय मंडल में वर्तमान सुंदर किरणों वाला चंद्रमा आकाश में दोड़ता है. हे सुवर्णमयी चंद्रकिरणो! कुएं से ढकी होने के कारण मेरी इंद्रियां तुम्हारे अग्रभाग को नहीं प्राप्त करतीं. हे धरती और आकाश! हमारे इस स्तोत्र को जानो. (१)
The moon with the present beautiful rays in the udakamaya mandala swings into the sky. O golden moons! Being covered by a well, my senses do not receive your forearm. O earth and sky! Get to know this hymn of ours. (1)

अर्थ॒मिद्वा उ॑ अ॒र्थिन॒ आ जा॒या यु॑वते॒ पति॑म् । तु॒ञ्जाते॒ वृष्ण्यं॒ पयः॑ परि॒दाय॒ रसं॑ दुहे वि॒त्तं मे॑ अ॒स्य रो॑दसी ॥ (२)
धन चाहने वाले लोगों को निश्चित रूप से धन मिल रहा है. दूसरों की स्त्रियां अपने पतियों को समीप ही पाती हैं, उनसे समागम करती हैं एवं गर्भ में वीर्य धारण करके संतान उत्पन्न करती हैं. हे धरती और आकाश! मेरे इस कष्ट को जानो. (२)
People who want money are definitely getting money. The women of others find their husbands close by, mate with them and bear semen in the womb and produce children. O earth and sky! Know this suffering of mine. (2)

मो षु दे॑वा अ॒दः स्व१॒॑रव॑ पादि दि॒वस्परि॑ । मा सो॒म्यस्य॑ श॒म्भुवः॒ शूने॑ भूम॒ कदा॑ च॒न वि॒त्तं मे॑ अ॒स्य रो॑दसी ॥ (३)
हे देवो! स्वर्ग में वर्तमान हमारे पूर्वपुरुष वहां से पतित न हों. सोमपान योग्य पितर के सुख के निमित्त पुत्र से रहित कभी न हों. हे धरती और आकाश! मेरी इस बात को समझो. (३)
Oh, God! Let not our former men present in heaven degenerate from there. Sompan should never be devoid of a son for the sake of the happiness of a worthy father. O earth and sky! Understand this point of mine. (3)

य॒ज्ञं पृ॑च्छाम्यव॒मं स तद्दू॒तो वि वो॑चति । क्व॑ ऋ॒तं पू॒र्व्यं ग॒तं कस्तद्बि॑भर्ति॒ नूत॑नो वि॒त्तं मे॑ अ॒स्य रो॑दसी ॥ (४)
मैं देवों में आदिभूत एवं यज्ञ के योग्य अग्नि से निवेदन करता हूं कि वे मेरी बात देवों के दूत के रूप में उन्हें बता दें. हे अग्नि! तुम पूर्वकाल में स्तोताओं का जो कल्याण करते थे, वह कहां गए? उस गुण को अब कौन धारण करता है? हे धरती और आकाश! मेरी यह बात जानो. (४)
I request the fire of worship and worthy of yajna in the devas to tell them my point of view as the messengers of the gods. O fire! Where did you go to the welfare that you used to do to the stoetas in the past? Who possesses that quality now? O earth and sky! Know this thing of mine. (4)

अ॒मी ये दे॑वाः॒ स्थन॑ त्रि॒ष्वा रो॑च॒ने दि॒वः । कद्व॑ ऋ॒तं कदनृ॑तं॒ क्व॑ प्र॒त्ना व॒ आहु॑तिर्वि॒त्तं मे॑ अ॒स्य रो॑दसी ॥ (५)
हे देवो! सूर्य द्वारा प्रकाशित तीनों लोकों में तुम वर्तमान रहो. तुम्हारा सत्य, असत्य एवं प्राचीन आहुति कहां है? हे धरती और आकाश! मेरी यह बात जानो. (५)
Oh, God! In all the three realms illuminated by the Sun you remain present. Where is your truth, untruth, and ancient sacrifice? O earth and sky! Know this thing of mine. (5)

कद्व॑ ऋ॒तस्य॑ धर्ण॒सि कद्वरु॑णस्य॒ चक्ष॑णम् । कद॑र्य॒म्णो म॒हस्प॒थाति॑ क्रामेम दू॒ढ्यो॑ वि॒त्तं मे॑ अ॒स्य रो॑दसी ॥ (६)
हे देवो! तुम्हारा सत्यधारण कहां है? वरुण की कृपादृष्टि कहां है? महान् अर्यमा का वह मार्ग कहां है, जिस पर चलकर हम पापबुद्धि शत्रुओं से दूर जा सकें? हे धरती और आकाश! हमारी इस बात को जानो. (६)
Oh, God! Where is your truth? Where is Varun's grace? Where is the path of the Great Arryama that we can walk away from sinful enemies? O earth and sky! Let's know this thing of ours. (6)

अ॒हं सो अ॑स्मि॒ यः पु॒रा सु॒ते वदा॑मि॒ कानि॑ चित् । तं मा॑ व्यन्त्या॒ध्यो॒३॒॑ वृको॒ न तृ॒ष्णजं॑ मृ॒गं वि॒त्तं मे॑ अ॒स्य रो॑दसी ॥ (७)
हे देवो! मैं वही हूं, जिसने प्राचीनकाल में तुम्हारे निमित्त सोम निचोड़े जाने पर कुछ स्तोत्र बोले थे. जिस प्रकार प्यासे हिरन को व्याघ्र खा जाते हैं, उसी प्रकार मानसिक कष्ट मुझे खा रहे हैं. हे धरती और आकाश! मेरे इस कष्ट को जानो. (७)
Oh, God! I am the one who spoke some hymns in ancient times when the soma was squeezed for you. Just as the thirsty deer is consumed by the tiger, so the mental sufferings are eating me. O earth and sky! Know this suffering of mine. (7)

सं मा॑ तपन्त्य॒भितः॑ स॒पत्नी॑रिव॒ पर्श॑वः । मूषो॒ न शि॒श्ना व्य॑दन्ति मा॒ध्यः॑ स्तो॒तारं॑ ते शतक्रतो वि॒त्तं मे॑ अ॒स्य रो॑दसी ॥ (८)
हे इंद्र! कुएं की आसपास की दीवारें मुझे उसी प्रकार दुःखी कर रही हैं, जिस प्रकार दो सौतें बीच में स्थित अपने पति को कष्ट देती हैं. हे शतक्रतु! जिस तरह चूहा सूत को काटता है, उसी प्रकार दुःख मुझे खा रहे हैं. हे धरती और आकाश! मेरी यह बात जानो. (८)
O Indra! The surrounding walls of the well are grieving me in the same way that two saunters torment my husband in the middle. O century! Just as the rat bites the yarn, so the sorrows are eating me. O earth and sky! Know this thing of mine. (8)
