ऋग्वेद (मंडल 10)
उद्बु॑ध्यध्वं॒ सम॑नसः सखायः॒ सम॒ग्निमि॑न्ध्वं ब॒हवः॒ सनी॑ळाः । द॒धि॒क्राम॒ग्निमु॒षसं॑ च दे॒वीमिन्द्रा॑व॒तोऽव॑से॒ नि ह्व॑ये वः ॥ (१)
हे सखा ऋत्विजो! समान मन वाले बनकर जागो. तुम अनेक होकर भी एक स्थान में रहने वालों के समान अग्नि को प्रज्वलित करो. मैं अपनी रक्षा के लिए दधिका, उषा, अग्नि एवं इंद्र को बुलाता हूं. (१)
O sakha ritvizo! Wake up with the same mind. You, though many, ignite the agni like those who live in one place. I call Dadika, Usha, Agni and Indra to protect myself. (1)

म॒न्द्रा कृ॑णुध्वं॒ धिय॒ आ त॑नुध्वं॒ नाव॑मरित्र॒पर॑णीं कृणुध्वम् । इष्कृ॑णुध्व॒मायु॒धारं॑ कृणुध्वं॒ प्राञ्चं॑ य॒ज्ञं प्र ण॑यता सखायः ॥ (२)
हे मित्र स्तोताओ! तुम मादक स्तुतियां करो, कृषि आदि कमों का विस्तार करो, डांड के द्वारा पार लगाने वाली नाव बनाओ, हल एवं जुए आदि उपकरणों को सजाओ तथा यज्ञपात्र अग्नि को भली प्रकार लाओ. (२)
This friend, Stotao! You do intoxicating praises, expand the fields of agriculture, etc., make a boat crossing through the danda, decorate the tools like ploughs and gambling, etc., and bring the yajnapatra agni well. (2)

यु॒नक्त॒ सीरा॒ वि यु॒गा त॑नुध्वं कृ॒ते योनौ॑ वपते॒ह बीज॑म् । गि॒रा च॑ श्रु॒ष्टिः सभ॑रा॒ अस॑न्नो॒ नेदी॑य॒ इत्सृ॒ण्यः॑ प॒क्वमेया॑त् ॥ (३)
हे मित्र ऋत्विजो! हलों में बैल जोड़ो, जुओं को विस्तृत करो व यहां प्रस्तुत खेत में बीज बोओ. हमारी स्तुतियों के साथ अन्न पर्याप्त मात्रा में हो. हमारा हंसिया समीप की पकी हुई फसल पर गिरे. (३)
Oh my friend, Ritvizo! Add the bull to the ploughs, expand the yokes and sow the seeds in the field presented here. May the grain be in sufficient quantity with our praises. Our swan fell on a nearby ripe crop. (3)

सीरा॑ युञ्जन्ति क॒वयो॑ यु॒गा वि त॑न्वते॒ पृथ॑क् । धीरा॑ दे॒वेषु॑ सुम्न॒या ॥ (४)
बुद्धिमान् ऋत्विज् हल जोड़ते हैं एवं जुआ हल से अलग करते हैं. धीर पुरुष देवों का स्तोत्र बोलते हैं. (४)
Intelligent solutions add solutions and separate gambling from ploughs. Patient men speak the hymns of the gods. (4)

निरा॑हा॒वान्कृ॑णोतन॒ सं व॑र॒त्रा द॑धातन । सि॒ञ्चाम॑हा अव॒तमु॒द्रिणं॑ व॒यं सु॒षेक॒मनु॑पक्षितम् ॥ (५)
हे मित्रो! पशुओं के लिए प्याऊ एवं चमड़े की रस्सी बनाओ. हम जलयुक्त सींचने में समर्थ एवं क्षीण न होने वाले गड्ढे से पानी लेकर सींचते हैं. (५)
Oh, my friends! Make drink and leather rope for animals. We take water from a pit that is capable of watering and is not able to irrigate water. (5)

इष्कृ॑ताहावमव॒तं सु॑वर॒त्रं सु॑षेच॒नम् । उ॒द्रिणं॑ सिञ्चे॒ अक्षि॑तम् ॥ (६)
हम चमड़े की शोभन रस्सियों से युक्त भली प्रकार सिंचित, जल से भरे हुए एवं न सूखने वाले गड्ढे से जल लेकर सींचते हैं. (६)
We irrigate water from well-irrigated, water-filled and dry pits with leather ropes. (6)

प्री॒णी॒ताश्वा॑न्हि॒तं ज॑याथ स्वस्ति॒वाहं॒ रथ॒मित्कृ॑णुध्वम् । द्रोणा॑हावमव॒तमश्म॑चक्र॒मंस॑त्रकोशं सिञ्चता नृ॒पाण॑म् ॥ (७)
हे ऋत्विजो! बैलों को घास आदि खिलाकर तैयार करो, खेतों को जोतो एवं सरलता से धान्य ढोने वाला रथ तैयार करो. पशुओं की प्याऊ में एक द्रोण जल आता है. पत्थरों के घेरे से घिरे हुए दुर्भिक्ष के समय जल की रक्षा करने वाले तथा मानवों के जलपान के आधार अर्थात् कुएं को पानी से भरो. (७)
Hey Ritvijo! Prepare the bulls by feeding them grass, etc., plough the fields and prepare a chariot carrying grain easily. A drona water comes into the drink of animals. Fill the water-protecting water and the base of the human's refreshment, i.e., the well, at the time of famine surrounded by stones. (7)

व्र॒जं कृ॑णुध्वं॒ स हि वो॑ नृ॒पाणो॒ वर्म॑ सीव्यध्वं बहु॒ला पृ॒थूनि॑ । पुरः॑ कृणुध्व॒माय॑सी॒रधृ॑ष्टा॒ मा वः॑ सुस्रोच्चम॒सो दृंह॑ता॒ तम् ॥ (८)
हे ऋत्विजो! गोशाला बनाओ. वही मानवों के जल पीने का स्थान है. तुम मानवों के कवचों को सिओ, जो अनेक एवं विस्तृत हों. तुम लोहे के मजबूत बरतन बनाओ तथा चमस को दृढ़ करो, जिससे पानी न टपके. (८)
Hey Ritvijo! Make the goshala. That is the place for humans to drink water. You must sift the armor of human beings, which are many and wide. You make strong vessels of iron and strengthen the spoon so that the water does not leak. (8)
