ऋग्वेद (मंडल 8)
उद्घेद॒भि श्रु॒ताम॑घं वृष॒भं नर्या॑पसम् । अस्ता॑रमेषि सूर्य ॥ (१)
हे शोभन वीर्य वाले इंद्र! तुम प्रसिद्ध धन वाले, अभिलाषापूरक, मानवहितैषी एवं दाता यजमान के चारों ओर जाते हो. (१)
O Indra with shobhan semen! You go around the famous rich, pro-people, pro-people, human-friendly and donor host. (1)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 8)
नव॒ यो न॑व॒तिं पुरो॑ बि॒भेद॑ बा॒ह्वो॑जसा । अहिं॑ च वृत्र॒हाव॑धीत् ॥ (२)
वृत्रहंता इंद्र ने भुजाओं की शक्ति से निन्यानवे शन्रुपुरियों को तोड़ा एवं मेघ का हनन किया. (२)
Vrithrahanta Indra broke the ninety-nine Shannupuris with the power of the arms and violated the cloud. (2)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 8)
स न॒ इन्द्रः॑ शि॒वः सखाश्वा॑व॒द्गोम॒द्यव॑मत् । उ॒रुधा॑रेव दोहते ॥ (३)
वे कल्याणकारी एवं सखा इंद्र बड़ी धाराओं से दूध देने वाली गायों के समान हमारे लिए घोड़ों, गायों एवं जौ से युक्त धन दें. (३)
They will give us money with horses, cows and barley, like the welfare and the sakha indra cows that give milk from large streams. (3)

यद॒द्य कच्च॑ वृत्रहन्नु॒दगा॑ अ॒भि सू॑र्य । सर्वं॒ तदि॑न्द्र ते॒ वशे॑ ॥ (४)
हे वृत्रहंता एवं सूर्यरूपी इंद्र! इस समय विश्व में जो भी पदार्थ हैं, तुम उनके सामने उदित हुए हो एवं सारा विश्व तुम्हारे वश में है. (४)
O Vrithrahanta and Indra in the form of sun! Whatever substances are in the world at this time, you have risen before them and the whole world is under your control. (4)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 8)
यद्वा॑ प्रवृद्ध सत्पते॒ न म॑रा॒ इति॒ मन्य॑से । उ॒तो तत्स॒त्यमित्तव॑ ॥ (५)
हे वृद्धिप्राप्त एवं सज्जनपालक इंद्र! तुम अपने को जो मरणरहित मानते हो, वह सत्य है. (५)
O the rising and the gentleman Indra! What you consider yourself to be without death is the truth. (5)

ये सोमा॑सः परा॒वति॒ ये अ॑र्वा॒वति॑ सुन्वि॒रे । सर्वा॒ँस्ताँ इ॑न्द्र गच्छसि ॥ (६)
हे इंद्र! समीपवर्ती अथवा दूरवर्ती स्थानों में जो सोमरस निचोड़ा जाता है, तुम उस सबके सामने जाते हो. (६)
O Indra! You go in front of all the somras that are squeezed in nearby or distant places. (6)

तमिन्द्रं॑ वाजयामसि म॒हे वृ॒त्राय॒ हन्त॑वे । स वृषा॑ वृष॒भो भु॑वत् ॥ (७)
हम महान् वृत्र राक्षस को मारने के लिए उस इंद्र को बुलाते हैं. अभिलाषापूरक इंद्र हमारे लिए धन बरसावें. (७)
We call that Indra to kill the great Vritra demon. May indra, the desire, shower money for us. (7)

इन्द्रः॒ स दाम॑ने कृ॒त ओजि॑ष्ठः॒ स मदे॑ हि॒तः । द्यु॒म्नी श्लो॒की स सो॒म्यः ॥ (८)
अतिशय तेजस्वी, सोमरस पीने के लिए निश्चित, यशस्वी, स्तुति योग्य एवं सोम के अधिकारी इंद्र को प्रजापति ने दान करने के लिए बनाया था. (८)
Extremely stunning, certain to drink somers, successful, praiseworthy and possessive of Soma, Indra was made by Prajapati to donate. (8)
