यजुर्वेद:
आहं पि॒तॄन्त्सु॑वि॒दत्राँ॑२ऽअवित्सि॒ नपा॑तं च वि॒क्रम॑णं च॒ विष्णोः॑। ब॒र्हि॒षदो॒ ये स्व॒धया॑ सु॒तस्य॒ भज॑न्त पि॒त्वस्तऽइ॒हाग॑मिष्ठाः ॥ (५६)
आप श्रेष्ठ ज्ञाता हैं. आप पितरों को अच्छी तरह जानिए. आप संसार के गतिमान चक्र को समझें. जो पितर कुश के आसन पर विराजित हैं, जो पितर स्वधामय सोमरस पीते हैं, वे पितरगण यहां आने की कृपा करें. (५६)
You are the best knower. You know the ancestors well. You understand the moving cycle of the world. Those ancestors who are sitting on the seat of Kush, those ancestors who drink Swadhamaya Somras, those ancestors should be pleased to come here. (56)
