हे पूषा देव! सुख उत्पन्न करने वाले इस यज्ञ कर्म में प्राणि समूह के प्रेरक देव अर्यमा होता बन कर आप को हवि प्रदान करें. संपूर्ण जगत् के निर्माता वेधा देव आप को वषट्कार के द्वारा हवि प्रदान करें. आप की कृपा से यह गर्भिणी नारी प्रसव संबंधी कष्ट से छुटकारा पा कर जीवित संतान को जन्म दे. सुखपूर्वक प्रसव के लिए इस के संधि बंध शिथिल हो जाएं. द्युलोक से संबंधित प्राची आदि चार दिशाओं एवं भूलोक की आग्नेयी आदि चार दिशाओं ने एवं इन दिशाओं के अधिष्ठाता इंद्र आदि देवों ने पहले गर्भ को पूर्ण किया था. वे सभी देव इस समय गर्भ को गर्भाशय से बाहर निकालें एवं जरायु के आच्छादन से मुक्त करें. (२)

प्रसव की देवता पूषा गर्भ को जरायु के बंधन से अलग करें. हम भी सुखपूर्वक प्रसव के लिए योनि मार्ग को खोल रहे हैं. तुम भी सुखपूर्वक प्रसव के लिए योनि मार्ग को शिथिल करो. हे सूतिमारुत देव! आप भी गर्भ का मुख नीचे को कर के उसे बाहर निकलने हेतु प्रेरित करो. (३)

हे प्रसव करने वाली नाड़ी! तू इस उदरगत जरायु से पुष्ट नहीं होगी, क्योंकि इस का संबंध मांस, मज्जा आदि से नहीं है. इसलिए उजले रंग की यह जरायु दोनों के ऊपर तैरने वाली काई के समान नीचे गिर जाए. इसे कुत्ते के खाने के लिए नीचे गिर जाने दें. (४)

हे गर्भिणी! मैं गर्भस्थ बालक को बाहर निकालने के लिए मूत्रमार्ग को फैलाता हूं तथा योनि के आसपास की नाड़ियों को भी फैलाता हूं. क्योंकि ये प्रसव में बाधा डालती हैं. मैं माता और पुत्र को अलगअलग करता हूं. इस के बाद मैं पुत्र को जरायु से अलग करता हूं. जरायु गर्भाशय से नीचे गिर जाए. (५)

हे दशमास गर्भस्थ शिशु! जिस प्रकार वायु, मन एवं आकाश में उड़ने वाले पक्षी आकाश में बिना रोकटोक के विचरण करते हैं, उसी प्रकार तू जरायु के साथ गर्भ से बाहर आ. जरायु गर्भाशय से नीचे गिरे. (६)
