अथर्ववेद (कांड 11)
यन्मात॑ली रथक्री॒तम॒मृतं॒ वेद॑ भेष॒जम् । तदिन्द्रो॑ अ॒प्सु प्रावे॑शय॒त्तदा॑पो दत्त भेष॒जम् ॥ (२३)
इंद्र का सारथी मातलि रथ के बदले में खरीदी हुई मृत्यु का नाश करने वाली ओषधि को जानता है. इंद्र ने उस ओषधि को जल में डुबा दिया है. जल हमें वह ओषधि प्रदान करे (२३)
