सूर्य देव हमारे प्रति उपद्रव करने वाले राक्षस, पिशाच आदि का विनाश करते हुए पूर्व दिशा में उदय होते हैं. सभी प्राणियों के द्वारा देखे गए और हमारे द्वारा अदृश्य राक्षसों आदि के हंता आदित्य उदयाचल पर्वत से उदय होते हैं. (१)
