सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
प्र सोमासो मदच्युतः श्रवसे नो मघोनः । सुता विदथे अक्रमुः ॥ (१)
हे सोम! आप प्रसन्नता बढ़ाने वाले हैं. आप को हवि देने के लिए निचोड़ा गया है. आप को अन्न और यश प्राप्ति के उद्देश्य से इन कलशीं में भरा गया है. (१)
O Mon! You are going to increase happiness. You've been squeezed to give havi. You have been filled in these urshi for the purpose of getting food and fame. (1)
सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
प्र सोमासो विपश्चितोऽपो नयन्त ऊर्मयः । वनानि महिषा इव ॥ (२)
हे सोम! आप बुद्धि बढ़ाने वाले हैं. आप पानी की लहरों की तरह कलशीं में जाते हैं. आप वन के पशुओं की तरह पवित्र पात्र में पधारते हैं. (२)
O Mon! You are an intellectual enhancer. You go to the kalash like waves of water. You come in a sacred vessel like the animals of the forest. (2)
सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
पवस्वेन्दो वृषा सुतः कृधी नो यशसो जने । विश्वा अप द्विषो जहि ॥ (३)
हे सोम! आप बल और इच्छा पूर्ति के लिए निचोड़े गए हैं. आप हमें यशस्वी बनाइए. आप हमारे सभी शत्रुओं को नष्ट कीजिए. (३)
O Mon! You are squeezed for force and wish fulfillment. You make us successful. You destroy all our enemies. (3)
सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
वृषा ह्यसि भानुना द्युमन्तं त्वा हवामहे । पवमान स्वर्दृशम् ॥ (४)
हे सोम! आप इच्छा पूर्ति, पवित्र करने वाले व प्रकाशमान हैं. आप सब को एक नजर (समान दृष्टि) से देखते हैं. हम इस यज्ञ में आप को आमंत्रित करते हैं. (४)
O Mon! You are wish-fulfilling, purifying and enlightening. You see everyone with one eye (same vision). We invite you to this yagna. (4)
सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
इन्दुः पविष्ट चेतनः प्रियः कवीनां मतिः । सृजदश्वँ रथीरिव ॥ (५)
हे सोम! आप चेतना देने वाले हैं. आप सभी को प्रिय हैं. विद्वानों की स्तुति के साथ आप को पात्रों में छाना जाता है. जैसे सारथी घोड़े को वश में रखता है, वैसे ही आप को धार से वश में कर के कलो में भरा जाता है. (५)
O Mon! You are the giver of consciousness. You are dear to all. With the praise of scholars, you are cast in the characters. Just as the charioteer keeps the horse in control, in the same way, you are subdued with an edge and filled in the buds. (5)
सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
असृक्षत प्र वाजिनो गव्या सोमासो अश्वया । शुक्रासो वीरयाशवः ॥ (६)
हे सोम! आप बलवान, बल देने वाले एवं वेगवान हैं. यजमान ने गायों, घोड़ों और पुत्रों को पाने की इच्छा से आप को निचोड़ा है. (६)
O Mon! You are strong, strong and fast. The host has squeezed you out of the desire to get cows, horses and sons. (6)
सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
पवस्व देव आयुषगिन्द्रं गच्छतु ते मदः । वायुमा रोह धर्मणा ॥ (७)
हे सोम! आप प्रकाशमान हैं. आप छनने के लिए पात्र में पधारिए. आप का आनंददायी रस इंद्र को पहुंचे. आप धारा के रूप में वायु को प्राप्त कीजिए. (७)
O Mon! You are shining. You come to the container for filtering. Your blissful juices reach Indra. You get air in the form of stream. (7)
सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
पवमानो अजीजनद्दिवश्चित्रं न तन्यतुम् । ज्योतिर्वैश्वानरं बृहत् ॥ (८)
सोम पवित्र हुए. उस के बाद उन्होंने स्वर्गलोक से सब को प्रकाशित कर सकने वाली ज्योति (वैश्वानर) को बिजली की तरह चमकाया. (८)
Som was holy. After that, he flashed the light (Vaishvanar) that could illuminate everyone from heaven like lightning. (8)
