सामवेद (अध्याय 15)
प्रेष्ठं वो अतिर्थिँ स्तुषे मित्रमिव प्रियम् । अग्ने रथं न वेद्यम् ॥ (१)
हे अग्नि! आप बहुत अधिक प्रिय व हमारे मेहमान हैं. आप हमें मित्र जैसे प्रिय और सर्वज्ञाता हैं. आप हविवाहक हैं. हम आप की स्तुति करते हैं. (१)
O agni! You are so dear and our guest. You are dear and well-known as our friends. You are a marriage. We praise you. (1)
सामवेद (अध्याय 15)
कविमिव प्रशँस्यं यं देवास इति द्विता । नि मर्त्येष्वादधुः ॥ (२)
देवताओं ने कवि की भांति दो रूपों (गार्हपत्य और आहवनीय) में मनुष्यों में अग्नि को प्रतिष्ठित किया. (२)
The gods, like poets, distinguished agni among human beings in two forms (garhapatya and ahvanya). (2)
सामवेद (अध्याय 15)
त्वं यविष्ठ दाशुषो नॄँपाहि शृणुही गिरः । रक्षा तोकमुत त्मना ॥ (३)
हे इंद्र! आप हमारी वाणी सुनिए. आप हमें अपनी शरण में लीजिए. आप अपने यजमानों की स्तुति पर ध्यान दीजिए. आप उन की रक्षा के लिए सचेष्ट रहने की कृपा कीजिए. (३)
O Indra! Listen to our voice. You take us to your shelter. Pay attention to the praise of your hosts. Please be careful to protect them. (3)
सामवेद (अध्याय 15)
एन्द्र नो गधि प्रिय सत्राजिदगोह्य । गिरिर्न विश्वतः पृथुः पतिर्दिवः ॥ (४)
हे इंद्र! आप विश्वपालक, पर्वत की भांति विशाल एवं स्वर्गलोक के स्वामी हैं. आप कृपया हमारे यज्ञ (पास) में पधारिए. (४)
O Indra! You are the world leader, huge like a mountain and the swami of heaven. You please come to our yagna (nearby). (4)
सामवेद (अध्याय 15)
अभि हि सत्य सोमपा उभे बभूथ रोदसी । इन्द्रासि सुन्वतो वृधः पतिर्दिवः ॥ (५)
हे इंद्र! आप सोमरस पीने वाले व सच का पालन करने वाले हैं. आप आकाश और पृथ्वी दोनों ही लोकों में अपनी सामर्थ्य रखते हैं. आप स्वर्गलोक के पति हैं. आप सोमयज्ञ करने वालों की बढ़ोतरी करने वाले हैं. (५)
O Indra! You are a drinker and follow the truth. You have your power in both the sky and the earth. You are the husband of paradise. You are going to increase those who do Somyagya. (5)
सामवेद (अध्याय 15)
त्वँ हि शश्वतीनामिन्द्र धर्त्ता पुरामसि । हन्ता दस्योर्मनोर्वृधः पतिर्दिवः ॥ (६)
हे इंद्र! आप स्वर्गलोक के पति एवं शाश्वत हैं. आप नगरों को धारण करने वाले, दस्युओं का नाश करने वाले व मनोबल की बढ़ोतरी करने वाले हैं. (६)
O Indra! You are the husband of heaven and eternal. You are the one who holds the cities, destroys the bandits and increases the morale. (6)
सामवेद (अध्याय 15)
पुरां भिन्दुर्युवा कविरमितौजा अजायत । इन्द्रो विश्वस्य कर्मणो धर्त्ता वज्री पुरुष्टुतः ॥ (७)
हे इंद्र! आप (शत्रुओं के) नगरों के भेदक, कवि, युवा, वज्र वाले, विश्व के कर्मो के धारक व पराक्रमी हैं. आप की कई जगह प्रशंसा होती है. आप अपने इसी स्वरूप के साथ प्रकट हुए हैं. (७)
O Indra! You are the piercer of the cities (of the enemies), the poet, the youth, the thunderbolt, the holder of the deeds of the world and the mighty. You are admired in many places. You have appeared with your same format. (7)
सामवेद (अध्याय 15)
त्वं वलस्य गोमतोऽपावरद्रिवो बिलम् । त्वां देवा अबिभ्युषस्तुज्यमानास आविषुः ॥ (८)
हे इंद्र! आप ने अपने बल से गायों को चुराने वाले राक्षसों के जत्थे को नष्ट किया. राक्षसों के नाश के बाद सारे देवता इकट्ठे हुए. फिर वे सभी देवता तब आप के साथ संगठित हुए. (८)
O Indra! You destroyed the batch of demons who stole cows with your own force. After the destruction of the demons, all the gods gathered. Then all those gods then organized with you. (8)
